Bespoke bus shelters are great for when you need something a little more advanced in terms of your location or project vision.

Bespoke bus shelters are great for when you need something a little more advanced in terms of your location or project vision. Our team can discuss your project regarding your specific requirements, involving us as part of the process, right through to the installation.

Our bus shelters are built using a modular system which incorporates a block and rivet system whilst the roof is a welded construction. The main benefit of this system is safety, this being due to the impact mitigation design, created to withstand a collision, therefore limiting risk of injury to waiting passengers and vehicle occupants.

The polycarbonate we use in our bus shelters has a layer of UV protection on both sides, and a service temperature range of between -40°C and +100°C. It has a light transmission the same as glass (90%) but only weighs half as much and has 200 times the impact resistance making it perfect for areas where it may be subject to vandalism.

Green Roof Bus Shelters

This option is available on new bus shelter orders and can also be retro fitted to some existing bus shelters.

The green roof system is an aluminium tray containing a 3 layer sedum blanket system. The first layer is a Rigid Drainage Board with Filter Fleece. The rigid drainage board allows for excess water to drain away, while keeping enough to feed the vegetation above. The Second substrate layer is a blended mix of free-draining organic material with clean, screened granular aggregates, recycled from certifiable waste products from the building industry, to provide a low nutrient water-retentive growing medium. It is made from 70% recycled materials in compliance with the Soil Association standards and certifications along with the UK Green Roof Code of Best Practice. The third layer is the sedum blanket they are lightweight, low maintenance, containing between 8 - 12 species which are specifically chosen for roof applications. The blend of sedums is a shade-loving, sun-loving and drought-tolerant species.

bus shelter guarantee.jpg

15 year guarantee

Our bus shelters are constructed from marine powder coated aluminium and come with a 15 year guarantee.

Aluminium is highly resistant to most environments and to a great variety of chemical agents. This resistance is due to the aluminium oxide film which forms on the metal surface. Although the oxide film is extremely thin, less than one hundredth of a micron, it forms a protective barrier between the metal and the surrounding medium as soon as the metal comes into contact with an oxidizing environment. On top of this natural aluminium oxide layer, we then marine powder coat our bus shelters to provide the maximum protection from the environment.

Maintaining your bus shelter

maintenance couldn’t be easier and should take no longer than 30 minutes.

To ensure that you enjoy the full guaranteed term of your bus shelter, we ask that you maintain it regularly. Due to the waterproof design of our products and the high quality finish on all of our powder coated products, maintenance couldn’t be easier and should take no longer than 30 minutes (based on testing done on our standard products) when done correctly.

Maintenance steps

  • Wash your bus shelter regularly. We recommend that you wash it every 3 months. This is to ensure that moss has no chance to grow on your product and that you have no natural mineral build up on your bus shelter.

  • Use soap to clean your bus shelter. We recommend using a mild detergent. Use a non-abrasive sponge or a soft bristle car cleaning broom when scrubbing your bus shelter. Please note that the use of solvents on plastics will cause it to degrade and go misty.

  • Once you have cleaned your bus shelter, Please ensure that you rinse it down thoroughly with water. This is to ensure that you leave no dirty soap sitting on your product that may cause a mineral build up, also this will ensure a shiny clean streak free finish.

  • We understand that accidents happen and that sometimes a bus shelter may be bumped, paint may be chipped or scratched in day to day use. We ask that if you damage any paint on your product, you immediately report this to us so that we may offer a paint repair to make sure that there are no scuffs on your screen/shelter that may become vulnerable to corrosion or oxidisation.

  • For guttered products, Please ensure that these gutters are cleared when cleaning, a build-up of plant matter may cause a mineral build up and sitting water.
